Peter Pan at the King's Theatre Glasgow

Peter Pan at the King's Theatre Glasgow
It is 50 years since the Kings theatre launched its first pantomime and even before the show began the Santa-hat wearing audience was in high spirits, even having an impromptu sing along to the Christmas tunes.

The show started with a bang to Pharrell Williams Happy and continued in that vain, it was a brilliant mixture of west end musical, pop concert, ballet and traditional pantomime that kept us all enthralled for the duration. At times the noise from the audience was deafening, drowning out all conversation onstage. The scenery was beautiful and the special effects were excellent, Amelia said “I liked Peter Pan because he could actually fly!”

Captain Hook played by Alex Bourne who stepped in at the last minute was the ultimate baddie and together with Smee played by Greg McHugh were the stand out stars of the show.

We loved it from start to finish and Lewis summed it up by saying “it was the best panto he had ever seen”. We are looking forward to the 51st panto at the Kings next year already.
